1st Birthday

Today was your first birthday party. I can't believe you turned 1 years old. Just seemed like yesterday that we were trying to find Daddy's keys, so we could check into the hospital. You've been a blessing in our lives. You provide us with hours of laughter, tears and many sleepless nights, but all the warmth  you bring to our lives far surpasses everything else. What did we do without you? Can't wait to share many more birthdays with you.We love you birthday boy!!!!

Christmas 2011

What a wonderful Christmas we had. We took off late morning on Christmas Eve. Had dinner at Julie and Mom's house. Stayed there until around 7pm, then spent the night at Steve and Cheda's. We woke up and Max opened up his rocking horse. After that we went to church. Came back home and Max slept for 3 hours. After he woke up we visited with friends, opened more gifts and ate a wonderful lunch. After lunch, we took off back over the mountain and spent the evening together as a family. It was very busy, but alot of fun too. Unfortunately Max is a bit too young to appreciate the whole event, but I think he still enjoyed it. He really enjoyed church and loved playing with all of his family members. Here are a few pics of the weekend, already looking forward to Christmas of 2012.

The month of December

Here are some pictures in preparation of our first Christmas with Maximus. We opted for a live 3 foot Christmas tree. Thank goodness we went this route, cause he tipped it over 3 times. He was mesmerized with the Christmas village. Can't wait for the big day!!

Haircut

I had great intentions of taking Maximus to visit Bubba at Bubba's Barbershop (Dave's childhood friend) for his first haircut. Then I realized how  unrealistic this is when he's only 11 months old and desperately needs a haircut. He won't sit still long enough to give him a haircut like a big boy. So, Mama cut it for him. I guess I didn't go to beauty school for no reason. I tried cutting his hair in his highchair while eating lunch, but that didn't work. So, I cut it while he slept. Didn't cut much, but now he can see.

Max and Santa

Tonight we took Max to Tillamook City Hall to see Santa, and the annual tree lighting ceremony. Santa was a bust, Max was scared to death. He refused to sit on his lap. I think this was a repeat from my childhood, I vaguely remember a similar instance in my own life.
